Krishna wins monthly with a brilliant 69 - 23-Sep-2008

BANK officer James Krishna powered his way through to take out the Tulsi Construction-sponsored monthly medal event at the Lautoka Golf Club over the weekend.

Krishna shot a brilliant 69 to scoop top honours with Roneel Krishna taking out the overall gross prize on 72.

In the A-grade, Sarfraz Ali won on 68 followed by Zabid Ali on 71 and LGC Chairman of Trustees Raymond Singh coming in on third spot.

In the B-grade, Paras Ram topped the field on 71 from Usa Koroi also on 71 and in third place was Lawrence Naidu on 72.

In the C-grade, former national bowls rep Kanda Mudaliar topped on 69, followed by Satish Rao on 72 and young Michael Nair third on 73.

Joel Krishna pipped his elder brother Arnold to walk away with the junior category.

Ashis Kumar recorded the longest drive and Nearest to the Pin (NTP) to Ashok Kumar and Umen Reddy.

Meanwhile, after a disappointed day on Saturday, Anuresh Chandra beat Johnny Krishna in the A-grade quarterfinal by 3/2 up while Roneel Prakash edged out Zabid Ali by 1 up.
